Costs to the Host Employer
There is a mark-up rate on the apprentice's wage rate. This multiplier is because the host employer only pays for the time that the apprentice is actually working for them. This is around 40 or 41 weeks of the year - after allowing for 4 weeks Annual Leave, other training courses, any time off sick or for bereavements and, depending on the level of training, either 3 or 4 weeks of block courses. The apprentice is however paid by ATT for all 52 weeks of the year as well as ACC.
