What Host Employers Do

You train the apprentice on the job, and in so doing provide real life work experiences.

You monitor the apprentice's performance and progress in close liaison with your local Area Coordinator.  They are each responsible for supporting and mentoring all Trust apprentices in their assigned area.

You have Trust staff to support you, and in particular your Area Coordinator will assist you resolve any issues that might arise before and during any placement.

As the apprentice's employer the Trust can also exercise its authority if disciplinary action is ever needed. The Trust can also transfer the apprentice in certain circumstances.

To assist you the Trust has set up a Host Employer portal on this website. Once you have registered on this you can view your own company's information as well as the training and employment records of each of your Trust apprentices. This means you can track their progress on block courses, and in all other aspects of their training.

The Trust's quarterly Newsletters are also available on this website.

Your portal also has a "Hot Stuff" section in which you can access, and if necessary, download the Trust apprentice Tool List, wage scales, charge-out scales, leave application forms, the apprentice House Rules and Individual Employment Agreement.

From 1 November 2007, each Host Employer will have the option of having their invoices and all other communications emailed to them, either to an electronic mailbox the Trust has set up for them, or to an existing email address that the Host Employer might already have.  If they prefer, each Host Employer can be sent their invoices and other communications by post.

All Host Employers are encouraged to pay their Trust invoices by signing up to our hassle free Direct Debiting system or the other payment option is Internet Banking.
