How ATT Works
ATT recruits, employs and places apprentices into host businesses in the plumbing, gasfitting, drainlaying and electrical sectors.
As an ATT host business, your company will take on an ATT apprentice for the duration of their training, essentially working as a contractor.
As you provide on-the-job training to shape the apprentice into a successful tradesperson, we do the rest. We simplify the process of training an apprentice, giving you a valuable team member to assist you to effectively grow your business.
Every ATT apprentice goes through our recruitment process, including two or more interviews, reference checks, criminal background checks, numeracy and literacy testing and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
For a simple hourly charge-out rate, ATT handles the details. We provide a complete HR, administration and management package including ACC, Kiwisaver, and payment of wages, sick leave and holiday pay. You only pay for the hours worked by the apprentice.
As business can be unpredictable at times, ATT provides a transfer option with 3 weeks notice.
ATT assigns a dedicated Area Manager to manage and mentor the apprentice through to completion. As well as regular visits, your Area Manager will update you with the apprentice’s progress and help mediate any issues when they arise.
ATT is committed to the health & safety of your apprentice. Every ATT apprentice completes their Site Safe passport, as well as an induction course which covers workplace first aid, confined space hazards and fall arrest (depending on trade). As the employer, ATT provides a full set of apprentice personal protection equipment.
