Work Out & ABout as a Drainlayer
Our drainlaying apprentices lay and repair sewer and stormwater pipes, and install and repair wastewater treatment systems. This can be on large commercial construction projects, as well as small scale residential projects.

What you need to know
A drainlaying apprenticeship is 2 years (4,000 hours of practical work experience)
As a highly hands-on trade, drainlaying requires a high level of fitness, safety consciousness and problem-solving skills
The apprenticeship involves a combination of on-job work experience with your host business, as well as off-job block courses
On completion, you will receive a New Zealand Certificate in Drainlaying, Level 4
