Apprentices following the Covid-19 rules

It’s great to see our ATT apprentices taking the Covid directions seriously and following the latest rules. We are proud of how everyone has stepped up and pulled together to ensure we can work safely. Construction is fortunate to be an area where work can continue nationwide as long as care is taken.

The government’s communications haven’t always been crystal clear as we move levels, with different parts of the country in various alert levels. Our advice to apprentices is to keep up with the updates – don’t rely on social media or your mates’ opinions – look for the central source of truth and that will always be government websites such as https://covid19.govt.nz/. It is important to keep wearing those masks, even though they can feel hot and restricting, sanitising your hands, keeping up the social distancing and following the site, host employer and general Covid19 rules. They’re there to keep us safe and minimise the chances of catching this nasty virus. Keep checking the latest locations of interest, as Delta spreads we all have to be extra careful.

Naturally we also highly recommend vaccination and you’ll see more and more mandates restricting opportunities for those who are unvaccinated.

If you have any queries about your work, the latest rules, or if you’d just like to talk with someone please contact your ATT Area Manager, we’re here to help. There are lots of resources around you too, if there is something worrying you – not just about Covid-19.
